Note: All items listed below may not by supplied in some survival equipment packs.

Caution: Ensure that the expiration date of certain items does not come due within the
date of the next overhaul period.
1. Visually check distress signals/rockets for general condition. Dispose of outdated stock in
accordance with the relevant local regulations.
2. Check handbooks and leaflets for legibility of content and condition.
3. Check whistle, hand pump, and hose for function and/or damage.
4. The water sachets have a five year life from the date of manufacture. These must be replaced at
every three year inspection to avoid going over the expiration date during the next three (3) year
period.
5. Check flashlight, batteries, and bulbs for damage. Renew batteries at every service.
6. Replace first aid kit at every service.
7. Replace the food rations and seasick tablets at every service.
8.
Check scissors, sponge, signal mirror, fishing kit, bailer, paddles, and repair plugs for corrosion
and damage. Renew as necessary.
9. All other items included with no expiration date may remain in use provided they have passed
inspection and test (if needed) at the normal overhaul periods.
10. Inspect bag for cleanliness, cracks, and any other signs of damage. Make sure all markings and
labels are legible.
