20 - All labels with health hazards must be kept in good
conditions. In case of damage or deterioration,
immediately substitute them (see pag.14-15).
21 - Do not utilize the machine for uses different from
the ones specified in the manual (see pag. 18).
22 - Never leave the machine unattended with the
engine running.
23 - When disposing of the machine at the end of its
useful life, think of the environment. Take your
old unit to your dealer who will be able to dispose
of it in a proper manner.
24 - Only experienced persons who are familiar with
the operation and safe use of this machine should
use it. If you lend the machine to someone, also
give them the instruction manual and ensure that
they read it before using the machine.
25 - All saw service, other than the operations shown
in the present manual, should be performed by
competent personnel.
26 - Keep this manual on hand and consult it before
each use of the tool.
27 - Please note that the owner or the user is
responsible for any accidents or damage to third
parties or their property.
When the machine is running, grip the front handle
fi rmly with your left hand and the Power Unit handle
with your right hand (Fig. 4). Check that all parts of the
body are kept away from the muffl
er.

10 - With the engine idling, the blade should not turn. If
it does, regulate the idle adjustment screw.
11 - Only start the stick edger in well-ventilated places
(Fig. 3).
12 - Never touch the blade or attempt any maintenance
work while the engine is running.
13 - In order to avoid hitting stones or other objects, do
not cut too close to the ground, wires netting (fences),
roots and walls.
14 - Check the stick edger each day to ensure that each
device, whether for safety or otherwise, is functional.
15 - All operations on the machines, diff erent from those
indicated in this manual, must be carried out by
qualifi ed personnel.
16 - Read this manual carefully until you completely
understand and can follow all safety rules, precautions,
and operating instructions before attempting to use
the unit.
17 - Restrict the use of your stick edger to adult users
who understand and can follow the safety rules,
precautions, and operating instructions found in
this manual. Minors should never be allowed to use
a stick edger.
18 - Never use a damaged, modified, or improperly re-
paired/assembled stick edger. Do not remove, damage
or deactivate any of the safety devices. Only use the
cutting accessory indicated in the table (page 16).
Always replace the cutting accessory or safety devices
immediately if they become damaged, broken or fail
to function correctly.
19 - It is prohibited to fi t any device other than that
supplied by the manufacturer.

e machine, when used correctly, is a
useful and eff ective tool; if used improperly or without
the due precautions it could become a dangerous tool.
So that your work is always pleasant and safe, please
respect the following safety precautions scrupulously
and throughout this manual.
WARNING! – National regulations could limit
use of the machine.
1 - Do not operate the machine unless you have received
specifi c instruction on its use. First time users must
familiarise themselves thoroughly with the operation
of the machine before working in the fi eld.
2 - Do not use the stick edger when you are tired or under
the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or medication (Fig.1).
3 - Wear appropriate clothing and safety articles such as:
boots, heavy-duty trousers, gloves, protective eyewear,
ear protection and protective helmet (look pag. 10-11).
Use clothing which is close-fi tting but comfortable.
4 - Do not allow other persons within a 15-metre radius
when using the stick edger (Fig. 2).
5 - Before using the stick edger, check that the blade fi xing
bolt is fully tightened.
6 - Th
e stick edger must be equipped with the cutting
tool recommended by the manufacturer.
7 - Do not use the stick edger without the blade guard.
8 - Before starting the engine, make sure that the throttle
lever works freely.
9 - Before starting the engine, make sure that the blade
is free to move and is not in contact with any foreign
objects.
