Product Overview
The MobileTrace
®
is designed and manufactured by Rapiscan Systems. It employs a patented technology to
detect and identify explosives and narcotics. This technology (Ion Trap Mobility Spectrometry) increases
efficiency and sensitivity over conventional Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS).
Hardware Requirements
To execute the desktop application, you need to connect to the device through a hub (not provided) to a laptop or
personal computer (PC) using a shielded Ethernet cable.

Before You Begin
Before you begin using the device:
•
Check local and national radiation regulations and preregister the radioactive detector, if necessary.
•
Furnish a storage facility for all device components.
•
Review shipping and handling requirements, for example hazardous material and storage.
•
Locate and prepare sufficient space for the device at the intended operating site.
•
Ensure that the intended operating site is equipped with adequate AC electrical outlets.
•
Ensure you are familiar with your organization’s alarm resolution protocol.
•
Ensure the safety and protection of device users from threats by contraband traffickers, if on-the-spot
checks of people and their baggage are to be performed.
