Configuring the R220 Network Appliance
The following sections describe configuration options that are related to remote management
or the R220. All settings can be made using the MegaRAC GUI.
User configuration
Up to ten users can be established with usernames and passwords, email IDs, and network
privileges. For IPMI service, the BMC reserves the first two user IDs for immediate access.
These should be changed after logging in for the first time.

DNS server settings
DNS server settings for the R220 include host, BMC registration, domain name, and IPv4 and
IPv6 domain name server.

Network settings
Some network settings on the R220 may need to be completed, such as the MAC address and
IPv4 or IPv6 settings. These settings can be changed in the MegaRAC GUI’s configuration
wizard.

NC-SI settings
The Network Controller Sideband Interface (NC-SI) provides external network connectivity for
the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) via one or more network controllers. The pass-
through packet data and the control packet data are delivered over the NC-SI. The BMC uses
NC-SI to connect to the Intel 82574 Ethernet controller and uses Port 0 of Intel 82754 Ethernet
controller for the management package.
Note:
NC-SI settings are pre-configured when the R220 is manufactured. If necessary,
however, you can specify the package ID and the channel numbers for the network controller.
