Installing optional components

Installing the rail kits into a Telecom 2-post rack

Notes:

•

Before installation, make sure each rack post is between 120 mm and 270 mm wide.

•

The Telecom rail kit supports M5/M6, or #10/#12 screws only. Identify the threaded-hole
size on the Telecom 2-post rack and use the corresponding screws for installing the rail kit
into the rack. For the square- or round-hole Telecom 2-post rack, the cage nuts must be
applied into the holes first.

Perform the following steps to install the rail kits into a Telecom 2-post rack. The steps match
the numbers in

Figure 29 on page 45

1. Attach the front rail support to the rack post and align the rail support with the base of the

desired 2U space, using the obtained countersunk mounting screws (2x).

2. Attach the rear rail support to the rack post and align the rail support with the base of the

desired 2U space, using the obtained countersunk mounting screws (2x).

3. Rest and center the main mounting rail over the top of the mounted rail supports.

4. Secure the main mounting rail with the supplied M5 screws (4x).

5. Repeat the same process above for the other rail kit.
