11.5 TX-THERMAL CAMERA
The TX Thermal is only available as a combined payload compartment with the Sony UMC R10C camera.
The camera is recording a thermal video for every flight leg. In between the flight legs the camera is automatically calibrating.
With the help of the free 3
rd
party software ThermoViewer the recorded videos can be converted into .tif or .rjpg files for the
further post-processing in e.g. Pix4Dmapper or Agisoft Metashape.
11.5.1 QBase setup
As soon as the TX camera is recognized upon start-up the recording symbol will turn yellow (pause recording). As soon as the
camera is recording during the flight legs the recording symbol will turn green.
Please make sure that also the camera symbol will turn green indicating a successful connection to the Sony UMC R10C camera.
For good data results it is mandatory to keep the front and side overlap at 75%.
When processing the results in Pix4D it is furthermore mandatory to enable the crossleg function. The standard flight altitude is
set to 100 meters.
11.5.2 Processing the data
The video streams are written in the form of *.TMC files that need to be further processed with the Teax ThermoViewer software.
Please download the software here: https://thermalcapture.com/thermoviewer-download/
1.
