Getting Started
2.1.
Accessing the switch Command-Line Interface
The command-line interface (CLI) provides a text-based way to manage and monitor the switch features.
You can access the CLI by using a direct connection to the console port or by using a Telnet or SSH client.
To access the switch by using Telnet or Secure Shell (SSH), the switch must have an IP address configured on
either the service port or the management VLAN interface, and the management station you use to access
the device must be able to ping the switch IP address. DHCP is enabled by default on the service port. It is
disabled on the management VLAN interface.
Note:
For information about changing the default settings for Telnet and SSH access methods, see
“Configuring and Applying Authentication Profiles”.
