5 Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each additional SIMM you are
installing.
6 Return the tray assembly to the printer by following the
instructions in Re-installing the Tray Assembly, earlier in
this chapter.
Removing a SIMM
If you want to replace a 4 MB SIMM with an 8 MB SIMM, use the fol-
lowing procedure to remove a SIMM. Then refer to the previous sec-
tion, “Installing a SIMM,” for installation instructions.

Note: SIMM connector 0 (DRAM 0) must always have an 8 MB SIMM
installed and the printer must have at least 13 MB of RAM installed.
1 If you have not already done so, access the tray assembly by
following the instructions in Removing the Tray Assembly,
earlier in this chapter.
2 Using the release latch located on each side of the SIMM
connector, release the SIMM.
3 Gently tilt the SIMM forward to a 45° angle. Then slide the
SIMM up and out of the SIMM connector.
4 And then... go to ther previous section, Installing a SIMM.
