The setup and administration tasks for an iSCSI network include creating and configuring an iSCSI Target,
creating iSCSI volumes, and configuring and start volume migration.
Add iSCSI Target
To create an iSCSI Target:
1.
Click on the
Virtual Storage
where you want to create the shared folder.
2. Click on the
iSCSI
menu tab.
3.
Click on
Add Target
button.
4. In the new menu, type in a valid
iSCSI Target Name
(IQN), and choose the
Storage Pool
to use for the
target from the pull-down menu.
5. Click on the
Add
button to create the iSCSI Target.
Note
For networks using Microsoft Multipath
I/O (MPIO), make sure to enable write-
through mode on the iSCSI target.
Click the
Use Write-Through Mode
option to check mark the box to if your
network uses MPIO.
Note
Users are advised not to use Takeover IP for iSCSI setup as
this can cause data inconsistencies. That is why this step is
eliminated from iSCSI setup in the Wizard.
