Interface Signals
The following signals are sent and received between the MC board and the
high-voltage power supply:

Main Charger Remote ON/OFF
This signal turns on or off the constant current supplied to the main charger.
Main Charger Current Control
The main charger current control signal sets the magnitude of the constant
current supplied to the main charger, based on the signal from the drum
surface potential sensor. As the voltage of the main charger current control
signal varies from 0 V to +12 V, the output current value to the charger varies
from 100
µ
A to 1000
µ
A.
Precharger Remote ON/OFF
This signal turns on or off the current sent to the precharger. A variable
resistor (B type) sets the magnitude of this current to between 20
µ
A and
200
µ
A.
Transfer Charger Remote ON/OFF
This signal turns on or off the constant current supplied to the transfer
charger. A variable resistor (B type) sets the magnitude of this current to
between 100
µ
A and 300
µ
A.
Separator Charger Remote ON/OFF
This signal turns on or off the voltage supplied to the separator charger. This
voltage consists of an AC voltage superimposed onto a constant DC voltage.
A variable resistor (B type) sets the magnitude of this voltage to between
+200 V and +500 V (DC component), and to between 10 KV and 12 KV p-p at
500 Hz (AC component).
