Operational Sequences
The main unit feed motor runs at the low speed. If any of the fanfold paper
remains when the tractor is driven, it is detected by paper output sensor
0.
4.
Paper fanfolding unit stopped.
If any of the fanfold paper remains, the vacuum fan motor and main unit
feed motor also stop.
5.
Transfer unit drive verification.
The transfer unit first ascends and then descends.
6.
Tractor reversal.
If the fanfold paper remains, it is parked, and then the printer goes into the
online idling state (10).
7.
Gate solenoid ON (500 msec).
This operation is performed to open the cut sheet paper output path.
8.
Cut sheet paper transport system ON.
This operation is performed to make sure that no cut sheet paper
remains in the transport path.
9.
Overall transport system OFF.
10. Printer switched to online idling state.
However, if an error occurs, the printer switches to the offline idling state
(in which the system waits for the error to be cleared).
Printing Operations
Start Conditions
Printing starts when the controller asserts the PRNT (print) signal while the
printer is in the online idling state.
Description Of Operations
The printing operations for the fanfold paper are different from those for the
cut sheet paper. The following pages describe the printing operations for two
such different types of paper along with their timing diagrams.
If the controller detects an error occurrence by receiving the basic status
information returned from the printer during printing, it stops printing, identifies
the error condition by reading the error status information, and displays the
descriptive error information on the control panel.
In such an instance, the printer goes into the offline idling state (in which the
printer waits for the error to be cleared). When the error is cleared, the printer
effects mechanical initialization and then goes into the online idling state.
Fanfold Paper Printing
1.
Drum cleaning (pre-printing).
When the PRNT signal is received from the controller, the printer carries
out a preprocessing operation which consists of drum cleaning and paper
