Command Operations
II–167
16. Drum cleaning (post-printing).
The same operations are performed as stated under fanfold paper
printing (see page II–162).
17. Printer switched to online idling state.
Command Operations
The engine performs the indicated operations upon receiving the following
engine operation request commands from the controller.
Auto-Load Fanfold Paper
1.
Opens the paper output path.
Opens the face gate (opens the transport path to the faceup paper output
tray), and controls the paper output gate to the condition memorized in
the fixed memory.
2.
Detects the leading edge of the paper.
Activates the tractor motor, and monitors whether the leading edge of the
paper is detected by the paper back feed sensor (PFBS). If the leading
edge of the paper has not been detected after the encoder counter counts
to 4800 (equivalent to 6 inches of transport distance), this is considered to
be an error, and the task is terminated. (The encoder counter counts the
number of output pulses of the encoder from the home position of the
tractor motor.)
3.
Sends the leading edge of the paper to the transfer point.
Sends the leading edge of the paper to the transfer point after it has been
detected by the paper back feed sensor within the above mentioned
count.
4.
Stops the tractor motor.
Stops the tractor motor, and transfers to online idling state.
Eject Fanfold Paper
1.
Checks whether or not there is paper remaining.
Activates the tractor motor, monitors the sensor output, and checks
whether or not there is any paper remaining in the transport pathway. If
there is paper remaining, proceeds to the next step. Otherwise, goes to
step 12.
To determine if there is paper within the transport path, the leading edge
of the output paper is detected by the output paper sensor 0 (EPS0)
within the time that it should take to transport the paper from the transfer
point to the output paper sensor 0 (EPS0), after the tractor motor is
activated.
2.
Activates the transport unit and the fuser unit.
Turns on the main unit feed motor (high-speed side), vacuum fan, preheat
lamp, lamp cooling blower, and smoke filter blower.
3.
Activates the jam detecting task.
