Tyre Pressure Monitoring
Tyre Pressure Monitoring continuously monitors
tyre pressure and tyre temperature on all four
wheels and warns the driver when the tyre
pressure is too low.
The display as well as the settings for Tyre
Pressure Monitoring take place on the on-board
computer.
However, you must still adjust the tyre pressure at
the wheel.
f
The driver is responsible for filling the tyres
correctly and making the correct settings on
the on-board computer.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring offers the following
functions:
– Display of the actual tyre pressure while the
vehicle is in motion.
– Display of the deviation from the required
pressure (refilling pressure).
– Display of currently set tyre size and type.
– Tyre pressure warnings in two stages.
Caution!
Despite the advantages offered by Tyre
Pressure Monitoring, it is still the driver’s
responsibility to update the corresponding
settings in the on-board computer and
maintain the pressure in the tyres. Low tyre
pressure reduces the road safety of the
vehicle and destroys the tyre and wheel.
f
When a flat tyre has been displayed, immedi-
ately stop in a suitable place and check the
tyres for damage. If necessary, remedy the
damage with a tyre sealant.
f
Do not by any means continue to drive with
defective tyres.
f
Sealing the tyre with tyre sealant is only an
emergency repair, so you can drive to the next
specialist workshop. The maximum speed is
80 km/h (50 mph)
.
f
Do not drive with tyres whose tyre pressure
drops again in a short period of time. In cases
of doubt, have tyres checked by a specialist
workshop.
f
Defective tyres must be immediately replaced
by a specialist workshop.
Tyre repairs are not permissible under
any circumstances.
f
If Tyre Pressure Monitoring is defective
(e.g. defective wheel transmitters), contact a
specialist workshop immediately and have the
damage repaired.
The tyre pressure will not be monitored by
defective Tyre Pressure Monitoring.
f
Use only the pressure differences shown in the
“Info pressure” display in the Tyre pressure
menu or from the corresponding tyre pressure
warning when correcting the tyre pressure.
f
Tyres lose air over time without a tyre defect
being present. A tyre pressure warning will
then appear on the on-board computer display.
Correct the tyre pressure at the next opportu-
nity.
f
Tyre Pressure Monitoring gives a warning
about tyre damage due to natural pressure
loss as well as about a gradual loss of
pressure due to foreign objects.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring cannot warn you
about tyre damage that occurs suddenly
(e.g. flat tyre due to abrupt external effects).
