Brake pads and brake discs
Wear on the brake pads and brake discs depends
to a great extent on the driving style and the condi-
tions of use and therefore cannot be expressed in
actual miles on the road.
The high-performance brake system is designed
for optimal braking effect at all speeds and
temperatures.
Certain speeds, braking forces and ambient condi-
tions (such as temperature and humidity) may
therefore cause the brakes to squeal.
When the wear limit for the pads has been
reached, the warning lights on the instrument
panel and on the on-board computer will light up.
f
Please observe the chapter “WARNINGS ON
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE ON-
BOARD COMPUTER” on page 106.

Have the brake pads replaced without delay.
Consult a qualified specialist workshop. We
recommend a Porsche partner for this work as
they have trained workshop personnel and the
necessary parts and tools.
Checks on test stands
Brake tests
must be performed only on plate-
type test stands or roller test stands.
The ignition must be off.
The following limit values must not be exceeded
on roller test stands:
– Testing speed 8 km/h (5 mph)
– Test duration 20 seconds
Handbrake tests
on the roller brake tester must
only be carried out with the ignition switched
off
.
