Maintenance, Car Care
If there is a fault in the automatic unlocking
system:
f
Open the passenger's door.
f Pull the ring in the right-hand door aperture
( arrow ).
Refuelling
Total capacity
The fuel filling capacity is approx. 67 litres, for
right-hand drive vehicles approx. 66 litres.
f Please observe the chapter “CAPACITIES” on
page 241.
1. Stop the engine and switch off the ignition.
2. Slowly unscrew the tank cap.
Hang the tank cap on the filler flap by its plastic
strap.
The hissing noise heard when the tank filler cap
is opened is “normal” and does not indicate a
fault in the tank system.
3. Insert the pump nozzle fully into the filler neck
with the handle of the pump nozzle facing
down.
4. Do not add further fuel once the correctly
operated automatic pump nozzle has switched
off.
Fuel could spray or could run over when
heated.
5. Replace the tank cap immediately after refuel-
ling and turn it until you hear it and feel it
engage.
If you lose the tank filler cap, you must
replace it only with an original part.

Danger!
Risk of fire or explosion if the fuel can is
damaged in an accident and fuel escapes.
Escaping vapours can be harmful to health.

Do not carry a fuel can on journeys.
f Observe the relevant laws.
