6. STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
WARNING
: Pinching hazard! There are pinch points between the seat and
trailer frames, as well as in the locking mechanism, that may cause injuries.
Be sure to keep your hands and fingers away from these pinch points
when folding or unfolding the trailer.
WARNING
: To avoid injury ensure that the child is kept away when
unfolding and folding this product.
6.1.
To fold the chassis (A), first, remove the safety flag before folding the
Trailer. Otherwise, the rod of the safety flag (K) will break.
6.2.
Open the luggage compartment (I), unlock, simultaneously, the
folding system buttons (A4) by moving the white button out and rotate
them inwards, and then move the upper chassis structure downwards.
6.3.
The trailer can be folded with or without the wheels (C) or the side
bumpers (D) on. If these components will be removed, they can be stored
inside the trailer when not in use. To remove the wheels, simply push the
wheel buttons (C1), and pull the wheel out from the frame, and to remove
the side bumpers, slide them to the front.
WARNING
: Never transport the trailer – even when folded – on the roof
of a motor vehicle.
WARNING
: Never use or store the trailer at temperatures below –20°C.
Avoid long-term exposure to direct sunlight, which will fade the fabric
over time.
Before your first ride, it is vitally important that you familiarise yourself with
the trailer before you use it for transporting children. We recommend you
first ride the trailer in a traffic-free area, loaded with approximately the
weight of the children to be transported.
SECURITY CHECKS TO BE DONE BEFORE EACH USE:
• Are the wheels securely attached?
• Are the locking mechanisms securely engaged?
• Is the parking brake working well?
• Are the seat safety harness and all luggage secure?
• Are all attached components correctly inserted and secured (i.e. the
respective fastening/locking mechanisms correctly engaged)? Check that
none of the security pins are hanging freely from their straps.
• Are the hitch safety straps secure?
• Are the tires inflated to the correct pressure? The actual tire pressure
should never be higher or lower than the maximum and minimum
inflation pressures marked on the tire sidewall.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
To keep the trailer in good working condition and to prevent accidents we
recommend the following:
• Check regularly the mounting system of the trailer to the bicycle to make
sure it is in perfect condition.
• Check regularly the stroller version to make sure it is in perfect condition.
• Check all the components to see if they work properly. Never use the
trailer if it is not in perfect working order. It must be periodically inspected
for damage and/or wear to the wheels, hitch arm, hitch connector, axle
hitch, frame, fabric body, fastening/locking mechanisms, safety harnesses
and the components of the Stroller kits. Do not use the trailer if any of the
components are damaged.
• Damaged components must be replaced. To replace them you need
to visit your local authorized POLISPORT dealer to get the correct
components for replacement. You can find them on the website:
www.polisport.com.
• Only use original spare parts and accessories that have been approved
by Polisport. These are the only components that can be used safely with
the trailer.
• Do not use cleaning solvents. Clean the fabric body and seat only with
mild soap and water. A soft brush can be used to clean areas of heavy
soiling. Leave it to dry at room temperature.
• Clean all metal parts with water, a soap solution or mild household
detergent.
• Never use pressure washers.
• To protect metal parts from corrosion, a thin coat of paste wax can be
applied. This is especially important if you plan to use the vehicle often in
wet weather, in salty air near the sea or the winter.
• No modifications or changes can be made to this trailer.
• If you have suffered an accident with your bicycle and trailer, we advise
you to get a new trailer. Even if there is no visible damage to the trailer.
• All maintenance work specified in this manual should be performed in
the specified intervals. Using the trailer when it is not in perfect working
order can result in accidents with serious injury or death.
• Polisport will not be liable for any damage or accident resulting from
non-following the recommendations in this user manual.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
D4
. LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT (I)
To use the luggage compartment you only need to open the luggage
compartment zip (I1) and put the cargo on it. The maximum load to
transport cargo on this compartment is 5kg. The luggage compartment
has also an inside pocket (I2) for luggage. Make sure that the cargo is well
secured to ensure that it cannot fall on the child’s back during transport. To
conclude this step, you only have to close the luggage compartment zip (I1).
WARNING
: Don’t exceed the maximum load capacity recommended of
20 kg + 5KG.
WARNING
: Never transport children on the luggage compartment.
WARNING
: Cargo must be well secured to ensure that it cannot shift
during transport. Loose cargo and overloading can change the handling
of the trailer, making the vehicle more difficult to control.
WARNING
: Only use cargo areas identified to transport cargo. Cargo
attached to the outside of the vehicle can drastically affect its handling
and stability, potentially resulting in accidents with serious injury or death.
• Are the towing bicycle brakes in proper use condition?
• HELMETS ON! Ensure rider and child helmets are on and secure.
WARNING
: Always check that the security pin has been inserted as far as it
will go through both holes and that it cannot fall out. If the security pin is
not properly inserted, the hitch arm could fall off during the ride, resulting
in accidents with serious injury or death.
