STEP 36: TARP
NOTE: IT IS EASIER TO INSTALL THE PAN HEAD SCREWS/WASHERS SHOWN BELOW IF 1/8" PILOT HOLES ARE
DRILLED INTO THE TARP BOARDS AT THE TARP GROMMET LOCATIONS. USE CAUTION IF DRILLING PILOT HOLES
INTO THE TARP BOARDS SINCE DRILLING THE HOLES TOO DEEP THROUGH THE TARP BOARD WILL DAMAGE THE
TARP ON THE OUTSIDE.
1: LAY TARP ACROSS TARP BOARDS, MAKE SURE HEM SIDE IS WRAPPED AROUND TO THE INSIDE OF THE TARP
BOARD.
2: CENTER THE TARP ON BOARDS AND BEGIN WITH THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE CORNER. PLACE ONE 1-1/4" PAN
HEAD SCREW WITH A 1/4" WASHER INTO THE GROMMET. FASTEN FRONT RIGHT GROMMET TO THE TARP BOARD.
3: GO TO THE FRONT LEFT SIDE CORNER AND PULL THE TARP TIGHT. INSERT A SCREW AND WASHER INTO THE
GROMMET AND FASTEN IT TO THE TARP BOARD.
4: NOW THE NEXT RIGHT SIDE GROMMET WILL RECEIVE A SCREW/WASHER, THEN THE SAME GROMMET ON THE
OPPOSITE SIDE (LEFT SIDE).
5: ESSENTIALLY, WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS ALTERNATING FROM SIDE TO SIDE, FROM THE FRONT OF THE FORT
MOVING BACK, TO KEEP THE TARP TIGHT AND WRINKLE-FREE.
