9.Address Table Settings
Switches store the addresses for all known devices. This information is used to
route traffic directly between the inbound and outbound ports. All the addresses
learned by monitoring traffic are stored in the dynamic address table. You can
also manually configure static addresses that are bound to a specific port.
Setting Static Addresses
A static address can be assigned to a specific interface on this switch. Traffic
sent from devices listed in the static address table will only be accepted on the
specified interface. If any packets with a source address listed in this table enter
another interface, they will be dropped.
Command Usage
Entries specified via the Web interface are permanent. Entries specified via the
CLI can be made permanent or can be set to be deleted on reset.
Web – Click Address Table/Static Addresses. Specify the interface, the MAC
address and VLAN, then click “Add Static Address.”
