Configuring the Logon Password
The guest only has read access for most configuration parameters. However, the
administrator has write access for parameters governing the onboard agent. You
should therefore assign a new administrator password as soon as possible, and
1. If you log into the Web interface as guest (Normal Exec level),you can view page
information but only change the guest password. If you log in as admin (Privileged
Exec level), you can apply changes on all pages.
2. If for some reason your password is lost, you can reload the factory deafults file or
reinstall runtime code to restore the default passwords. See “Upgrading Firmware via
the Seria Port” on page A-2 for more information.
The default guest name is “guest” with the password “guest.” The default admin-
istrator name is “admin” with the password “admin.” Note that user names can
only be assigned via the CLI.
Web – Click System/Passwords. Enter the old password, enter the new pass-
word, confirm it by entering it again, then click “Apply.”
CLI – Assign a user name to access-level 15 (i.e., administrator), then specify
the password.
