• Check that the p laye r is connected using a digital connection.
• Make su r e that the r eceive r is set to
AUTO

DIGITAL

• Check that the p laye r isn’t set u p so that Dolby Digital and DTS sou r ces a r e conve r ted to PCM.
• Ensu r e that if the r e a r e seve r al audio t r acks on the disc, the Dolby Digital o r DTS is selected.

• The disc may not contain 5.1/6.1 channel mate r ial. Check the disc p ackaging fo r mo r e on what
audio t r acks a r e r eco r ded on the disc.

not a malfunction. Check the disc p ackaging fo r details about the audio t r acks available.
Du r ing p layback of a Su rr ound

• The sou r ce may be Dolby Su rr ound EX/DTS-ES softwa r e, but it has no flag to indicate it is 6.1
com p atible. Set to SBch ON (see

to the THX Su rr ound EX o r Standa r d EX listening mode (see
Listening in surround sound
on p age 57).

• Check whethe r the r eceive r ’s r emote cont r ol mode is pr o p e r ly set (see
Remote Control Mode Setup
on p age 114).
• T r y r e p lacing the batte r ies in the r emote cont r ol (see Loading the batteries on p age 11).
• Be su r e to o p e r ate within 7 m (23 feet) and a 30º angle of the r emote senso r on the f r ont p anel (see
Operating range of remote control unit
on p age 11).
• Check that the r e a r e no obstacles between the r eceive r and the r emote cont r ol.
• Make su r e that the r e is no fluo r escent o r othe r st r ong light shining on to the r emote senso r .
• Check the connections of the
CONTROL IN
jack (see
Operating other Pioneer components with this
unit’s sensor
on p age 37).

• If the batte r y r an down, the pr eset codes may have been clea r ed. Re-ente r the pr eset codes.
