Incandescent Lamp Socket Assembly (VL500
and VL500D Only) Replacement
Parts:
23.9685.0780 1 EA ASSY, LAMP SOCKET (VL500 AND VL500D ONLY)
Tools:
• #2 Phillips Screwdriver
• 1/4" Hex Nutdriver
To remove and replace lamp socket assembly:
Step 1. CLOSE ALL GLASS IN BULKHEADS - Power up unit and allow all
DICHRO*TUNE glass to calibrate. Once they close, power down unit.
WARNING:
Remove power from luminaire before performing maintenance.
Step 2. Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source.
Step 3. Engage tilt lock so luminaire head is in horizontal position with top cover (one with
bubble) facing up (as shown in
Figure 19
).
Step 4. Open heatsink by releasing latch.

Step 5. At top cover, remove four 6-32x1/4" PPB SEMS screws.
Step 6. Remove top cover.
Step 7. Remove Magenta/Blue Bulkhead Assembly as described in
“Magenta/Blue
DICHRO*TUNE Rear Bulkhead Replacement” on page 33
. Remove Magenta/Blue
bulkhead.
Step 8. Using soft cloth to protect lamp, remove lamp from socket.
Some components not shown for clarity.
