Determining the Signal-to-Noise Ratio
Although the Spectrum RX I will automatically perform a signal-to-noise ratio
during installation, the following section describes how to perform a manual
signal-to-noise ratio.
1.
Make sure that the sample slide is empty, the Jacquinot stop (J-stop) is
removed and the lever for the alignment light is in the off position
(Figure 18).

The Spectrum RX I collects 16 background scans. Wait until the scan
status box reports

before continuing.

The Spectrum RX I collects a single scan - the 100% line - and ratioes it
against the 16 background scans. The scan is stored in region X. Wait for
the scan to be completed before continuing.
