5. Temperature test
When testing an HWAT System for temperatures it is
important to test in an appropriate sequence. Testing
should start at the point of use closest to the water
heater and progress out.
Testing should be done after a minimum of 4 hours
of no water usage. This will ensure that the tem-
peratures indicated are not due to flow conditions.
It is a good idea to turn off all cold water valves to
eliminate the possibility of introducing cold water to
the hot side via a cross connection.
The following example illustrates a typical tempera-
ture test sequence for an HWAT System.
