DPOAE
from the
SELECT TEST
menu and select the ear
on which you wish to start the test.
3. Press
OK
to start the test.
Calibration
Calibration is performed before the actual test starts.
Probe fit
If the probe does not fit correctly, the screen displays the word LEAK .
Adjust the position of the probe so that the graphical line between
1K and 2K is as horizontal as possible.
Balance test
The probe fit is followed by a balance test to make sure that the two
microphones function correctly.
The test starts automatically when calibration is completed.
The DPOAE test
The test as it progresses is shown on the display. See also Section
6.2.2, ‘DPOAE tests” on page 51 for monitoring the test.
Test duration
Approximately 10 seconds on patients with normal hearing.
The test frequencies are shown at the top of the display. The se-
quence of the test frequencies is as follows:
1. 4000Hz
2. 3200Hz
3. 2500Hz
4. 2000Hz
If required, press SKIP to skip testing of certain frequencies. The test
continues with the next frequency.
