Short description
The UMC box, coining unit, is a marking system for marking products through
coining.
When coining, the marking takes place via a carbide point, which is brought to
oscillating by compressed air. The carbide point is moved in X- and Y-direction
by a coordinate unit with two stepping motors. Thus, material in the workpiece is
compressed and/or displaced. In continuous operation the marking consists of a
dense sequence of individual points which results in a closed line.
Engraving units cannot be operated with the UMC box.
