Safety precautions
The precautions described below are intended to prevent danger or injury to the user and other personnel through
safe, correct use of the product. Use the product only after carefully reading and fully understanding these
instructions.
Handling the product without observing the instructions that accompany a “Warning”
symbol may result in serious injury or death.
Handling the product without observing the instructions that accompany a “Caution” symbol
may result in injury or property damage.
The items under this heading contain important handling instructions that the user should
observe to ensure safe use of the product.
General
•
Do not use the product in explosive or corrosive environments, in the presence of flammable gases, locations
subjected to splashing water, or near combustibles. Doing so may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
•
Assign qualified personnel the task of installing, wiring, operating/controlling, inspecting and troubleshooting the
product. Failure to do so may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
•
Do not transport, install the product, perform connections or inspections when the power is on. Always turn the
power off before carrying out these operations. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
•
After turning off the power supply, wait at least 10 seconds before installing, inspecting or troubleshooting the
product. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
•
The terminals on the driver’s front panel marked with
symbol indicate the presence of high voltage. Do not
touch these terminals while the power is on to avoid the risk of fire or electric shock.
•
If the driver’s protective function is actuated, the lineard motor current will be cut off and the motor will stop. Once
the motor has stopped, do not apply any load that will move the rack. Doing so may result in injury or equipment
damage.
•
When the driver-protection function is triggered, the lineard motor will stop and lose its holding torque, possibly
causing injury or damage to equipment.
•
When the driver’s protection function is triggered, first remove the cause and then clear the protection function.
Continuing the operation without removing the cause of the problem may cause malfunction of the lineard motor
and driver, leading to injury or damage to equipment.
•
Use a lineard motor with an electromagnetic brake for a lift device. In the event of power failure or actuation of the
driver’s protective function, turn off the power to the electromagnetic brake to hold the rack by means of the
electromagnetic brake. Failure to do so may result in injury or equipment damage.
•
Do not use the electromagnetic brake of a lineard motor with an electromagnetic brake as a safety brake for your
equipment. This electromagnetic brake is designed to hold the lineard motor rack and moving part in position.
Using it as a safety brake may result in injury or equipment damage.
Installation
•
Use the lineard motor and driver for class I equipment only to prevent electric shock or injury.
•
To prevent the risk of electric shock, install the lineard motor and driver in their enclosures.
•
Install the lineard motor and driver so as to avoid contact with hands, or ground them to prevent the risk of electric
shock.
Connection
•
Keep the driver’s input-power voltage within the specified range to avoid fire and electric shock.
•
Connect the cables securely according to the wiring diagram in order to prevent fire and electric shock.
•
Do not process or modify the cables of the lineard motor or any extension cable (sold separately) connected to it.
Fire or electric shock may result.
•
Do not forcibly bend, pull or pinch any of the power cables and lineard motor cables. Fire or electric shock may
result.
•
Securely connect the driver’s protective ground terminal to the grounding point. Failure to do so may result in
electric shock.
•
Upon completion of connection, always install a terminal cover over the power terminals on the driver. Failure to
do so may result in electric shock.
