Introduction
Before use
This product must be handled by qualified personnel with expert knowledge of electrical and mechanical
engineering.
Use the product correctly after thoroughly reading the section “2 Safety precautions” on p.4.
The product described in this manual has been designed and manufactured for use in general industrial machinery,
and must not be used for any other purpose. Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. is not responsible for any damage caused
through failure to observe this warning.
Overview of the product
The
LAS
series is a highly reliable, low-vibration motorized actuator adopting a stepping motor with a built-in rotor
position sensor. We also offer the lineard motor with an electromagnetic brake for keeping the rack in position in a lift
device or other equipment that repeats up/down movement.

* Always install a rack-end detection sensor to prevent the rack from coming off. We provide a photomicrosensor set
(sold separately) used for home-position and end limit.

To use a lineard motor with an electromagnetic brake, always purchase an optional extension cable (sold
separately). The electromagnetic brake will not function if the motor cable is connected directly to the driver.
Provide a dedicated power supply for the electromagnetic brake separately from the control power supply.

The
LAS
series is available in three power-supply specifications of single-phase 100 V, single-phase 200 V, and
three-phase 200 V.

This product is recognized by UL and certified by CSA, and bears the CE Marking (Low Voltage Directive and EMC
Directive) in compliance with the EN Standards.
