map image. The scan captures 121 B-

scans covering a 20 x 20 degrees (6 mm x 6 mm) field of view.

HD volume scans can be positioned anywhere within an on-axis

opto

map image. The high density scan

captures 121 B-scans covering a 20 x 12 degrees (6 mm x 3 mm) field of view.

Optos OCT

ultra-widefield extended line

scan

The extended line scan can be positioned centrally within an on-axis

opto

map image. It generates a cross-

sectional OCT image of 80 degrees (23 mm) in length.

2.7.3.3 Multi-mode workflow

The device provides a multi-modal workflow sequencing option. Multi-mode assists the user in performing
a sequence of SLO and OCT scans (see

How to capture using Multi-mode

on page 50).

2.7.4 System software

The system contains features to help you configure the system and to capture, review, archive and retrieve
images. The system software comprises:

Scan head software that enables capture of patient studies.

Image server 'middleware' that encodes patient studies for storage.

Image server 'archive and review' software provided by Optos

Advance

Browser-based review clients.

The image capture software runs on the scan head.

2.7.4.1 Understanding the review software

Optos

Advance

is browser-based review software that runs on the image server. It enables eye care

professionals to manage and display the following data and images:

Patient data

Diagnostic data

Images from computerized diagnostic instruments

Images from video documentation systems

With Optos

Advance

practitioners can easily view, annotate and share patient records and digital ocular

scans. Detailed instructions can be found in the Optos

Advance

help files.

Physicians can use Optos

Advance

to view and manage their diagnostic data, videos and images. This

includes Ophthalmic Photography, Angiography, Ophthalmic Tomography, Visual Field and other relevant
eye care modalities.

Optos

Advance

software is used to:

Manage and display patient data

Store and review images and diagnostic data

Comparative image reviewing tools that allow images to be easily displayed and linked together for
simultaneous image viewing.

Automatic registration of image features. These registered points are used to align images that are
viewed together. You can also register image reference points manually.
