6.3 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Set the main switch of the device to "0" (off).
Connect the supplied cable to the power supply.
For safety, use either the cable supplied by Optikon or a cable complying to the
safety standards.
Only use a XP Power AFM30US12C2 power supply specifically provided by
Optikon (Ref. 38A260).
Connect the power supply to the Keratron™ Nova to connector 1) labelled 12V
45VA.
When connecting the power supply to the power outlet, avoid a connection which
would make problematic the disconnecting of the power supply from the wall outlet.
Connect the LAN cable (crossed) supplied or an equivalent one to connect the
remote PC to connector 2) (Ethernet).
Alternatively, if your PC is already on a local network the Keratron™ Nova can be
inserted as an additional terminal (client) of the same network, with an ordinary LAN
cable (see §9.5).
In order to make the cable connection effective the network parameters must be
configured. The procedure is described in §9.4 - §9.5.
This connection is optional. In fact the Ethernet connection is useful to transfer data
immediately to a remote PC on which the Scout software is running. Please note that
the examinations are stored on the Nova mass memory and can be exported via
USB at any time.
Connect the pedal to connector 3).
NOTE:
On this connector the pedal can be connected as mentioned above and you can
connect a movable Optikon base that will provide for the automatic reading of the
eye under examination (left/right sensor), and an integrated push button on the base
joystick; such a base is still under development at the time of writing this manual
