When the engine is running, pull out the
two plug from the electric source, removing
first the one on the machine.
8. After the engine warms up (approximately
10 seconds), set the choke to
OPEN
position
(Fig.35).
9. Move the throttle (Fig.40) to the
SLOW
position.
NOTE - STARTING WARM ENGINE:
Follow above starting instructions, but do
not use the CLOSE position for start up
again.
WARNING: Weather conditions and
altitude may affect carburetion. Do not
allow bystanders close to the motorhoe
while adjusting the carburetor.
Keep the engine at full throttle the entire time
of the work.
High Altitude Operation
At high altitude, the standard carburettor air-
f u e l m i x t u r e w i l l b e e x c e s s i v e l y r i c h .
P e r f o r m a n c e w i l l d e c r e a s e , a n d f u e l
consumption will increase.
High altitude performance can be improved by
specific modifications to the carburetor. If you
always operate the engine at altitudes higher
than 1.500 m above sea level, have your
authorized dealer perform these carburettor
modifications.
Even with suitable carburettor jetting, engine
horse power will decrease approximately 3.5%
for each 300 m increase in altitude. The effect of
altitude on the horse power will be greater than
this if no carburettor modification is made.
CAUTION: Operation of the engine at
an altitude lower than the carburettor
is jetted for may result in reduced
performance, overheating, and serious
engine damage caused by an excessively
lean air / fuel mixture.
Breaking-in the Engine
The engine reaches the maximum power after
5-8 hours of activity.
During this period of breaking-in do not make
the machine function idly at full throttle, to
avoid excessive functioning stress.
Difficult Starting (or starting a flooded
engine)
The engine may be flooded with too much fuel
if it has not started after 10 pulls. Flooded
engines can be cleared of excess fuel by
following the warm engine starting procedure
listed above. Ensure the ON/STOP switch is in
the I position. Starting could require pulling the
starter rope handle many times depending on
how badly the unit is flooded.
Engine is Flooded
- Remove the engine key (5, Fig.41).
- Pry off the spark plug boot.
- Unscrew and dry off the spark plug.
- Open the throttle wide.
- Pull the starter rope several times to clear the
combustion chamber.
- Refit the spark plug and connect the spark
plug boot, press it down
firmly
– reassemble
the other parts.
- Insert the engine key (5, Fig.36).
- Set the choke lever to OPEN position – even if
engine is cold.
- Now start the engine.
Crawler-type snow thrower steering (72
ELDT) (Fig.55)
Pull the right lever to turn right (A).
Pull the left lever to turn left (B).
Function shift control lever (72 ELDT)
With function shift control lever (20, Fig.27A)
you can select three function:
TRANSPORT -
The machine moves without
working.
NORMAL -
The machine is in normal working
mode.
PACKED SNOW -
The machine works on thick
or solid snow field.
NOTE:
To regulate the function shifts, the
handle should be pressed down to lift the front
