Océ VarioPrint 1105
Special Functions Menu
Within this tab, operators have access to the
more advanced finishing features of the
device including Z-fold, image shift, divide
output and adhesive binding.
The
Z-fold
feature allows jobs including
legal or ledger/A3 sized pages to be
incorporated within a letter/A4 size
document by folding the oversized pages in
a z-pattern so that the edge sits flush with
the other letter/A4 sized pages.
Image shift
is a common feature in a print
room/back office where large documents are
produced and finished/bound offline. The
image shift allows the operator to shift the
image away from the left margin so that
when the document is bound, the left border
of the document from is still easy to read and
doesn’t disappear into the spine of the
bound document.
Divide Output
offsets portions of a
document for easy division. This is a useful
feature in the print shop when offline
finishing such as hole punch is being carried
out. Take for example a hole punch that has
a maximum capacity of 50 sheets, the
operator is able to group the document into
batches of 50 sheets so he/she can ensure
that the hole punch can accommodate each
task with minimum user effort.
The Adhesive Binding feature
is used
when a document is to be thermal bound,
allowing the operator to group saddle-folded
pages into groups of smaller booklets ready
to be fed into the binding device. This is an
easier process than attempting to feed single
cut sheet pages into the binder.
