Important!
Replace the sealing ring and rubber gasket once a year or once every two year, depending
on the frequency of use. Use only OBH Nordica pressure cooker spare parts for this pressure
cooker. These parts can be ordered from OBH Nordica spare parts 08-445 79 00.
Instructions for use
- Before each use, check that the safety valve housed on the inside of the handle is not
obstructed.
- At least 0.25 litres of liquid is required to generate steam, regardless if you are cooking
with or without steam basket and metal stand.
- To brown food before cooking (e.g. onions, meat) use the pressure cooker body as a
traditional pot. Before continuing the cooking with the pressure cooker, make sure to add
correct amount of liquid and stir to remove burned food from the inside bottom. Close the
lid and wait for pressure to build up.
How to close and open the lid
The pressure cooker has only one closed position. Align “O” on the lid and the triangle on
the long handle on the body. Turn the lid clockwise as far as possible and make sure the lid
handle and the body handle align with each other. Look the pressure cooker by pressing the
button down.
If the lid is not closed properly, pressure will not build up inside the pressure cooker. When the
heating source has been turned off, there are two alternatives for opening of the lid.
Let the pressure cooker cool down naturally, and open the lid when the indication rod is

back to normal position. If you want to speed up the cool down time, place the pressure
cooker in the sink under a gentle stream of cold running water. Never submerge the
pressure cooker in water.
Use the pressure regulator to and have the pressure to go down faster. Be careful to

prevent scalding, as there is a lot of steam released during this process.
When the indication rod is back to normal position and indicating there is no pressure inside the
pressure cooker, press the button in forward direction. Rotate the lid counter clockwise. When
“O” and the triangle are aligned with each other, the lid can be removed by lifting upwards.
NEVER FORCE THE LID OPEN. ENSURE THAT THE PRESSURE HAS DROPPED
COMPLETELY BEFORE OPENING.
Cooking
To cook with the pressure cooker, it is important to fill the pressure cooker with liquid which is
able to steam after boiling (e.g water, soup, stock or wine). Never fill the pressure cooker with
food and liquid above the MAX marking on the inside measurement scale. Fill only halfway
when cooking food which will expand in size and/or produce foam.
Place the closed pressure cooker on an appropriate size of the heating source. This OBH
Nordica pressure cooker is suitable for all kind of stoves such as electric, gas, halogen,
ceramic and induction.
