10. To test the vacuum coupling, try to lift the lid.
11. In order to open the lid of the vacuum container, press the “Vacuum
release” button on the lid to release the pressure, after which the lid can be
removed.
12. The vacuum container can be cleaned and washed in the dishwasher (not
the lid) after use. Never use solvents for cleaning.
13. If it looks as if dirt has penetrated under the white protection lid at the
under side of the lid, you can remove the protection lid and hand wash it.
Wipe dry the underside of the lid of the vacuum container with a damp
cloth before you put the protection lid back on. Check that the protection
lid is properly positioned. Note that the entire lid cannot be hand washed;
only the white protection lid.
14.
NOTE!
The vacuum container and the lid must not be used in a microwave
oven.
A raw material that is vacuum packed in a vacuum container and kept in a
refrigerator will remain fresh up to 5 times longer than a raw material that has
not been vacuum packed. Before you eat the raw material, check the status
of the vacuum pressure of the container. If the “Pressure indicator” button is
pressed, the container is still under pressure. If this is not the case, the raw
material should be thoroughly checked before you eat it.
If the container is kept in a freezer, the vacuum pressure may be kept up to
1 month. The raw material can of course be kept in the freezer for a longer
period of time, even if the container is not under pressure. Check the status of
the vacuum pressure according to the above instructions.
How to marinate under vacuum pressure
The marinating process is speeded up if done under vacuum pressure, since
the vacuum pressure opens the pores of the raw materials and absorbs the
marinade faster. This means that the process only takes a few minutes instead
of hours.
Marinating in a vacuum bag
Keep the marinade in a vacuum bag together with the raw materials and
vacuum pack according to the above instructions. Be careful to add sufficient
marinade in order that all raw materials are covered To get the best result,
marinate for at least 30 minutes in the vacuum bag before you cut open the
bag.
How to marinate in a canister (accessory 7957)
For an even more efficient pickling process, marinate fish/meat in a vacuum
container according to the following description:
1. Position the appliance on an even surface and plug to a wall outlet; the
signal lamp goes on.
2. Make sure that the vacuum container and the lid are clean and dry.
