PTZ CAMERAS CONTROL AND CONNECTION
5. PTZ CAMERAS CONTROL AND CONNECTION
NDR-HB4416 is able to control up to 16 cameras (NDR-HB4208 up to 8 cameras) through RS-485
port connected in daisy chain. Daisy chain cannot exceed 1200m total length and 1.5m taps from the
main line.
You can control PTZ cameras, motor-zoom cameras with optical or digital zoom. You can control
cameras from main panel of the DVR, via Internet Explorer or iRAS software. To control cameras you
have to assign addresses to each camera.
The DVR is able to cooperate with various control protocols, e.g. Novus-C, Novus-C1, Pelco-D and
others.
Note: All the cameras in one system should have the same control protocol and transmission
speed set in their menus (check the user’s manual of the camera for more details).
Presented connection description is dedicated to Novus camera. To connect cameras of different
producent please contact your Novus distributor and read instruction of the camera.
Note:
For PTZ cameras control you can also use RS-232 port. In this case you need to use
RS232—RS-485 converter. It is required in case of connection keyboard and PTZ cameras to the DVR
in the same time.
5.1 Novus PTZ cameras connection.
PTZ cameras are connected in daisy chain with UTP5 cable. Cameras are connected to RS-485 port.
Telemetry junctions are located at the rear of the device, as a terminal block. To ease the connecting
process, plugging the socket out of the terminal is possible. Please connect the wires between the DVR
and cameras in a way described below:
