2-Port Serial Data Expansion Module
The 2-port Serial Data Expansion Module supports the following:
•
Two serial data ports on one module
•
RS-232/V.24, V.35, V.36, and X.21
•
Auto-sensing DCE or DTE interfaces (when appropriate cable is used)
•
Both ports configurable as WAN ports with external DSU/CSU
•
Provides clock within 100 parts per million (ppm)
•
Two modules supported per Passport 4460 unit
The 2-Port Serial Data Expansion Module will support any protocol.
The following modes must operate at the following speeds:
Both serial data ports have internal clocking capabilities of up to 100 parts per
million. Both ports can be configured as WAN ports with external DSU/CSU
attached.

Note:
On Passport 4460 units supporting master clocking, only the first
of the two ports can supply clock to the backplane. However, both ports
can receive clock from the backplane.
