Digital Voice Expansion Module
The Digital Voice Expansion Module is an expansion daughter card that fits
directly onto the T1 or E1 Voice Expansion Module. This module provides the
following:
• Adds six additional voice channels with compression
• Up to three additional Digital Voice Expansion Modules per T1 module
(six channel increments up to 24 channels)
• Up to four additional Digital Voice Expansion Modules per E1 module
(six channel increments up to 30 channels)
The Digital Voice Expansion Module connector positions are labeled as follows:
• X2 (DSP2) through X4 (DSP4) on theT1 Voice Expansion Module
• X2 (DSP2) through X5 (DSP5) on the E1 Voice Expansion Module
Follow the number sequence when mounting Digital Voice Expansion Modules.
The illustration below shows a Digital Voice Expansion Module being mounted
on a T1 Voice Expansion Module in the X4 (DSP4) position after X2 (DSP2) and
X3 (DSP3) have already been mounted. X5 (DSP5) is available only on the E1
Voice Expansion Module.
