For long-term maintenance, do the following:
1. Perform steps 1 through 3 in Daily described earlier in this section.
2. Flush all fluid lines with a compatible cleaning solution to remove any
remaining coating material.
3. Turn off the air and fluid pressure. Make sure you leave cleaning
solution in the lines.
WARNING: Ground all electrically conductive equipment.
Ungrounded conductive equipment can store a static charge
that could ignite a fire or cause an explosion if a hot spark is
discharged.
Periodically check the electrostatic system to make sure the operator,
RA-16 rotary atomizer, EPS8, IFC-100 cable, and all conductive
materials within the spray area are connected to a true earth ground.
Make sure all electrostatic equipment maintains correct resistance
values. Resistance values are important for maintaining the equipment
within the designed current outputs. Resistance values may vary
because of

coating material buildup in the spray area

degradation of electrical components that have been exposed to high
voltages
