Before you connect the pneumatic inputs, make sure the

supply air is clean and dry (99.99% of 0.1 micron contaminants
removed)
S
air flow is a minimum of 6.9 bar (100 psi) at 707 l/min (25 scfm)
NOTE: The RA-16 rotary atomizer may require more air flow with
high-speed, high-volume coating material flow and increased vector
air.
S
bearing air pressure is a minimum of 4.83 bar (70 psi)
NOTE: Higher bearing air pressures of 5.50 − 6.90 bar (80 − 100 psi)
and an independent air filter are recommended.
CAUTION: Operating the air turbine without adequately filtered
air or without specified bearing air pressure will lead to
premature turbine failure and voids all warranties.
To connect the pneumatic lines to the RA-16 rotary atomizer, use the
following steps:
1. See Figure 3-3. Connect

-in. tubing to the BEARING AIR port (3).
NOTE: When the RA-16 rotary atomizer is operating, the BEARING
AIR port must always have supply air. DO NOT install an ON/OFF
valve on the bearing air line. Install a pipe tee with a shut-off valve for
all other input air lines.
CAUTION: Make sure all pneumatic and fluid lines are isolated
from each other. Otherwise, pin holes might occur.

-in. tubing to the BRAKE AIR port (1).

-in. tubing to the VECTOR AIR port (2).

-in. tubing to the TURBINE AIR port (6).
