PRELIMINARY BREAK-IN
Operate motor grader with a light load for the first 50
hours. Efficient engine operation is obtained with the
engine coolant temperature above 70°C (158°F).
Operating the engine with coolant temperature below
this level will result in incomplete combustion of fuel,
poor fuel economy with less power, and harmful
deposits within the engine.
Inspect entire unit after first 10 hours of operation:
-- Tighten all loose bolts and check all brake and control
adjustments.
-- Check hydraulic system for loose connections and
pinched or rubbing hoses.
-- Check electrical system for loose connections and
plugs, pinched or rubbing wires and harnesses.
After 50 hours of operation perform the following:
-- Change transmission oil filter element.
-- Change hydraulic oil filter element.
-- Change fuel filter.
-- Clean fuel sediment.
-- Check all air intake connections.
-- Check all cooling system connections.
-- Check all exhaust system connections.
-- Check and adjust parking brake.
-- Check front wheel bearing adjustment.
-- Check ROPS mounting bolts for proper
torque of 312-447 N×m (230-330 lb-ft.)
-- Check cab mounting bolts for proper torque
of 745-814 N×m (550-600 lb-ft.).
-- Check wheel lug nuts for proper torque of
441-475 N×m (325-350 lb-ft.).
