6.2 Troubleshooting
If you suspect any kind of fault, try the following troubleshooting tips. If this does not resolve the
issue, contact NF Corporation or a sales representative.
Issue
Possible Cause
Response
Power will not go on Power supply is outside of
rated range.
Use a power supply that is within the rated
range.
Make sure the mains supply cord is inserted
correctly.
Error occurred
during self
calibration
Operation fault due to external
noise, etc.
Turn the power off and on again. Install the
system in a more suitable environment.
AC amplitude is not
correct
Remote command
“VOLT:OUTP 2” was not
transmitted after amplitude
setting was changed.
Enter the remote command “VOLT:OUTP
2”. Otherwise, set value is not reflected in
output.
Vrms and Vpeak units are
incorrect.
Select Vrms and Vpeak correctly.
Low load impedance (load is
divided with
FRA5014
’s
output impedance of
approximately 50 Ω).
Set a higher voltage to accommodate the load
impedance.
Too much variation
among
measurements
Oscillator is off.
Enter the remote command “VOLT:OUTP
2”. Otherwise, set value is not reflected in
output.
Drive signal level is lower
than was set.
Too much noise or signal is
too weak.
Increase the AC amplitude or lengthen the
integration time.
Fault in cable connection with
oscillator.
Use the voltage monitor on an oscilloscope
or spot measurement screen to check the
voltage.
Operation differs
from that described
in the instruction
manual.
All settings have not been
initialized
Most descriptions in the manual assume that
full initialization has been executed.
Initialize all settings.
