Network-defined test targets are already set up on the
AirCheck G2. Below are the network-defined test targets that
are shown on the
Test Targets
screen:
Default Gateway
DHCP Server
Primary DNS
Secondary DNS
AirCheck G2 uses these test targets to perform ICMP Ping
tests. Each test target, whether network-defined or user-
defined, is shown with a check-box that allows you to select it
to use during connection tests. By default, all network-
defined test targets are selected when the
Test Targets
screen opens. You can deselect any of them by un-checking
the corresponding box.
How to: Add a User-Defined Test Target
In
, the user-definable test targets are
www.google.com and www.netscout.com. The Google ping
test is included by default, and a ping test to NETSCOUT has
been added. You can add up to 10 user-defined test targets
with the following procedures:

Select
Add Test Target
to open the
Configure Target
screen.

On the Configure Target screen, select
Target
to open the
Test Target
screen.

Enter the IP address or host name of the test target, and
select
DONE
.

Next, touch the down arrow
to select a desired
Test Type.
NOTE:
The default test type is
ICMP Ping
. If you select
TCP Port Open
, then you must select
Port
to open the
TCP Port screen, specify the TCP port number, and then,
touch
DONE
. This will take you back to the Configure
Target screen.

Select
Apply
to implement the addition of the test target.

Repeat steps 1 through 5 to add up to 10 test targets.

When you have finished adding test targets, select
Apply
at the bottom of the Test Targets screen.
NOTE:
You can also edit and delete test targets using the
(Edit)
or
(Delete)
icons.
