2.2 General
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
• The Portable Vacuum Unit with 3 phase motor may only be connected to a grounded socket of the
voltage stated on the machine data plate.
• Any damaged electrical component should immediately be replaced with a genuine spare part. Such
work may only be performed by a person with the necessary knowledge of electrical equipment. Other
damaged parts should also be replaced with genuine parts in order to reduce the risk of personal injury.
• The Portable Vacuum Unit must be disconnected prior to any intervention. Disconnect by unplugging
the power supply/plug or uncoupling the compressed air connection.
• Before starting, the operator must ensure that the Portable Vacuum Unit is correctly configured.
• During starting, the Portable Vacuum Unit may move in a sideways direction. Always hold onto it when
starting.
• It is prohibited to lift the Portable Vacuum Unit by the handle. Instead, lift by the frame’s lifting loop
(optional). The receptacle must be empty when lifting. It is prohibited to be underneath the Portable
Vacuum Unit when it is being lifted. See
Section 4.5 Transport and lifting
.
• The eccentric catches holding the collecting receptacle must be secured by locking cotters.
• Hot or red-hot material, flammable fluids, explosive or health-impairing fumes or dust that could cause
an explosion may not be sucked into the Portable Vacuum Unit. Neither may it be used in spaces where
such material exists, i.e. an explosive atmosphere.
• Do not put the vacuum hose inlet near the eyes, ears or other part of the body.
• Anti-static vacuum hoses and hose fittings should be used in order to reduce the danger of sparks and
dust explosions.
• Take care not to spread dust when changing the plastic sack or bag and when replacing the micro-filter.
Wear an approved breathing mask in the case of hazardous dust.
• Do not run the Portable Vacuum Unit for more than 1 minute when it is almost or fully throttled. Little
or no airflow could result in overheating of the fan and motor. Avoid touching the fan/motor as this
could cause burns.
• The Portable Vacuum Unit is not classified as a wet vacuum cleaner. Large amounts of water may not
be sucked into the unit. However, it may be used for damp material and in a damp environment.
