How to Clean the Mouse

Under normal conditions, the mouse self-cleaning mechanism prevents a
buildup of dust or lint around the mouse ball and tracking mechanism.
Periodically, however, you might need to clean the mouse ball.

Use these steps to clean your mouse.

1. 

Wake a system in sleep mode, save and close any open applications,
close Windows, and power off your system and any peripherals
attached to it.

2. 

Turn the mouse over. Locate the mouse ball cover (see the following
figure).

Rotate the ball cover counterclockwise and remove the cover.

4. 

Turn the mouse over so that the cover and ball fall into your palm.
