Equipment Log
Use this equipment log form to record pertinent
information about your system. You will need some of
this information to run the System Configuration
Utility. Be sure to update the equipment log when you
add options.
Record the model and serial numbers of the system
components, dates of component removal or
replacement, and the name of the vendor from whom
the component was purchased. Be sure to record the
same information for any components added to the
system, such as hard disk drives, add-in boards, or
printers.
Record the model and serial numbers of the unit and
system baseboard. The model and serial numbers of the
system unit are recorded on a label attached to the rear
of the unit. The serial number of the baseboard is
located along the left side of the board, near the PCI
expansion slot covers.
The location of serial numbers on add-in boards, hard
disk drives, and external equipment, such as video
displays or printers, varies from one manufacturer to
another. Literature accompanying these products
should illustrate or describe the location of model and
serial numbers.
