9-52 Upgrading Your Server
Optional RAID Controller
Your server can include the optional PCI add-in RAID controller. The optional RAID controller can
control the internal hard disk drives as the RAID drive.
To use the internal hard disk drives in a disk array configuration with an optional RAID controller,
reconnect the SCSI cable on the mother board (excluding the zero-channel RAID card (N8103-99)).
At the factory, the internal SCSI cable is connected to the serial SCSI (SAS) interface connectors on
the mother board as shown below.

Change the SCSI cable connection as the following procedures.
1.
Remove the end of the SCSI interface cable that is plugged into the SAS connectors on
the mother board.
2.
Reinstall the end of the SCSI interface cable just removed into the connector on the RAID
controller.
