TROUBLESHOOTING
This section describes what you should do when a trouble occurs in the product.
Problems with EXPRESSBUILDER
When the NovaScale/Fault Tolerant Server series is not booted from the EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM, check the
following:
Did you insert the EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM during POST and restart the server?

If you do not insert the EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM during POST and restart the server, an error message
will appear or the OS will boot.
Is BIOS configuration correct?

The boot device order may be specified with the BIOS setup utility of the server. Use the BIOS setup utility
to change the boot device order to boot the system from the CD-ROM drive first.

When an error occurs while the EXPRESSBUILDER is in progress, the following message appears. After this message
appears, check the error and take the appropriate corrective action according to the error codes listed in the table below.

Cause and Remedy
This EXPRESSBUILDER version is not designed for this
server. Execute the EXPRESSBUILDER on the
compliant server.
This machine is not supported.
An access to the nonvolatile memory (NvRAM) is not
acceptable.
NvRAM access error
Hard disk access error
The hard disk is not connected or it is failed.
Check whether the hard disk is correctly connected.
Any device specific information does not exist on the mother
board. Use [System Information Management] of ‘Off-line
Maintenance Utility’ and list the backup information, or write
the information.
This is displayed, if EXPRESSBUILDER can not detect
the device specific information, when changing a
motherboard, etc. Maintenance personnel should use
the off-line maintenance utility and write the information.
This operation should be executed only by maintenance
personnel. Do you want to start the off-line maintenance
utility?
An error message will also be displayed when an error was detected during system diagnosis. Take a note or print the error
message displayed, and contact your sales agent.
