ROAMS Unit Replacement

See Figure 

MD-1 

in the Mechanical Drawings section (Section 6) of this manual.

1. Open the system cabinet’s rear door and locate the ROAMS unit (U6) mounted below the 

system controller (A1).

2. Disconnect the power connector (U7P2) and the I/O connector (P6) from the back of the 

ROAMS unit.

3. Remove the three screws above the ROAMS unit that secure the ROAMS mounting bracket 

to the system cabinet. Retain this hardware for re-installation.

4. Remove the mounting bracket from the ROAMS unit, noting it will be required to mount 

the new ROAMS unit.

5. Locate or obtain a replacement ROAMS unit (Nautel Part # UX134). Remove its front 

panel to allow installation of the mounting bracket. Reverse

the new ROAMS unit.

Dummy Load Replacement

See Figure 

MD-1 

in the Mechanical Drawings section (Section 6) of this manual.

1. Turn off the standby transmitter or open its interlock circuit by removing the wiring from 

the 

INTERLOCK

 connector (A1J4) on the rear of the standby transmitter.

2. Disconnect the coaxial cable connected to J1 of the dummy load (U3).

3. Using two 13 mm sockets or wrenches, remove the dummy load from its support bracket, 

noting it is secured using using M8 hardware. Retain hardware to install the new dummy load 
on this bracket.

4. Locate or obtain a replacement dummy load (Nautel Part # DA98). Reverse

 to reinstall the new dummy load. The transmitter system should resume normal 

operation and any associated alarm should clear.
