VHF transmitter status LEDs
The front panel of each VHF transmitter contains three LEDs that aid in isolating an active fault -
TRANSMITTER STATUS
, antenna and load (see
Figure 1.2
). The
TRANSMITTER STATUS
LED and one
of the antenna or load LED will always be on. They indicate the transmitter’s operational status as
well as its RF routing path. The status of these LEDs should be identical to the
TRANSMITTER A
or
TRANSMITTER B
LED on the system controller front panel.
Figure 1.2: Transmitter Status LEDs
When the
TRANSMITTER STATUS
and associated antenna or load LEDs are:
•
green - transmitter operation in the associated path is normal, with no known faults.
•
blinking green/red (
TRANSMITTER STATUS
LED only) - transmitter is RF on, but a fault is
present
•
red - RF off
When a fault is present, the associated transmitter may still produce an RF output or a changeover to
the standby transmitter may occur (if enabled). In the case of a changeover, the suspect transmitter
may have already been routed to the dummy load (check the dummy load LED status). You should
schedule and commence more in-depth fault diagnosis. To further isolate the origin of the fault, see
“List of current alarms” on page 1-6
.
