
Alternatively: Filling with cool-
ant through filler neck
1.
Remove plug screws from filling points (ar-
rows) on coolant lines from and to the inter-
cooler.
2.
Open air bleed on the intercooler (arrow).
3.
Fill coolant via the filling points on the cool-
ant lines to and from the intercooler and via
the expansion tank up to the overflow.
4.
When coolant emerges from the bleed valve,
close the bleed valve.
5.
Install plug screws of filling points with new
sealing rings.
6.
Check pressure cap is in perfect condition
and clean sealing faces if necessary.
7.
Position pressure cap on the filler neck and
close to the first stop.
8.
9.
After 10 seconds of running the engine with-
out load, shut down the engine (→ Page 49).
10.
Turn pressure cap counterclockwise and re-
move.
11.
Check coolant level (→ Page 126) and top up
coolant as required:
a) Top up with coolant via expansion tank
until the coolant level is constant at the
overflow.
b) Position breather valve on filler neck and
close.
12.
Repeat steps from start engine (→ Step 8) un-
til coolant is no longer needed to be topped
up.
Final steps
1.
Start the engine and run it without load for some minutes.
2.
Check coolant level (→ Page 126) and top up coolant as required.
