High coolant temperature
warning lamp
This lamp illuminates in red
if the coolant temperature
becomes excessively high.
CAUTION
l If the lamp illuminates during vehicle opera-
tion, it indicates that the engine is possibly
overheating. Continued driving could make
the engine fail. Immediately stop the vehicle
in a safe place and take appropriate action.
(Refer to “Engine overheating” on page
8-04.)
NOTE
l The high coolant temperature warning lamp
may illuminate when the vehicle has been
driven at high speeds or on hilly roads. This
illuminating does not necessarily indicate a
problem. It should stop if you keep the en-
gine running for a while or continue driving
the vehicle.
Door ajar warning lamp
This lamp illuminates when
a door or the tailgate is either
open or not completely
closed.
If the vehicle speed reaches
approximately
8 km/h
(5 mph) with a door or the tailgate open or
incompletely closed, a buzzer sounds 4 times
as a warning.
CAUTION
l Before moving your vehicle, check that the
warning lamp is OFF.

Headlamps
NOTE
l Vehicle with Bi-xenon High Intensity Dis-
charge (HID) headlamps type, when entering
a country in which vehicles are driven on the
opposite side of the road to the country in
which your vehicle is supplied, necessary
measures have to be taken to avoid dazzling
oncoming traffic. However, headlamps on
this vehicle do not need any adjustment.
NOTE
l
Do not leave the lamps on for a long time
while the engine is stationary (not running).
A run-down battery could result.
l When it rains, or when the vehicle has been
washed, the inside of the lens sometimes be-
comes foggy, but this does not indicate a
functional problem.
When the lamp is switched on, the heat will
remove the fog. However, if water gathers
inside the lamp, we recommend you to have
it checked.
l The Bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge
(HID) headlamps (if so equipped) exhibit the
following characteristics.
• The light from the Bi-xenon HID head-
lamps can gradually change to bluish
while in use.
• Bulb life is shortened depending upon the
frequency of use. If the bulb decreases in
brightness, flashes or turns reddish, we
recommend
you to consult a
MITSUBISHI MOTORS Authorized
Service Point.
